Making the ordinary extraordinary



WHAT


The
Back to Basics program is a way to physically, emotionally, and mentally align with the reality of Creation through daily activities in foundational awareness... from Cosmos, through Nature, to us!



HOW


The Back to Basics program takes root as we identify as the product of the 4.5 billion year evolutionary process of Sun + Earth, characterized by unprecedented novelty and harmony. My shorthand for this expanded identity is "SHE", which stands for Sun, Human, Earth.


SolEarthing -- standing barefoot on the Earth opening to the Sun is our basic meditation posture and gives us our best access to aligning with the creative genius of the Universe. Back to Basics is how we can find ways to embody this expanded consciousness into our daily activities.


Breathing in through the nose — by allowing the tongue to being in contact with the back of the teeth or the roof of the mouth — is the first step of SolEarthing. The outline of the process is:


Breathe, Open, Notice, Embody, and Savor / Soften / Smile

We contemplate how to enjoy this moment, how good can it feel, and how much fun can we have for the benefit of all beings. We receive this gift in each moment and with each breath, and our overflowing in this bliss naturally leads to desiring to share our Good Fortune with others. We allow the natural response of gratefulness to arise for all who made our bodies, this world, and Creation possible.


WHY


Our daily choices help us discern the nature of our contractions (the out of alignment, coping strategies of our isolated self) in contrast to our connection to self, other, nature, and Universe.


  • Increase physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual connection to Nature (including human nature), enhances well-being…
  • A cosmological paradigm that is real, inspiring, and provides an essential existential bond…
  • Helps people develop their unique way of embodying and expressing the evolutionary creative force of the unfolding Universe.
  • Utilizes the free resource of inner and outer nature that is accessible to everyone. 
  • No extra time needed for many of these practices. 




1. SUN-EARTH ACTIVATION


More and more research confirms the benefits of Nature:
Standing barefoot on the Earth...
... opening to the Sun...
... as an energetic conduit between them.


  1. Simply re-creating the 100% connection with nature our species has always had (and has still).
  2. Getting a respite from the often unhealthy environment of the artificial, non-natural matrix. 
  3. Adapting meditative practices to receive the frequency of nature to permeate and guide us.
  4. Cultivating our beingness state.
  5. Strengthening one's identity as being the product of the 4.5 billion year process of Sun + Earth.
  6. Sunrise and sunset aligns us with the circadian rhythm that is our organism’s aligner with life, and light.


2. BREATHING


This is our source of life.
What is the quality in which we breathe in Source?
How amazing is our capacity to convert what's in the air, into providing life?


  1. Inhale through the nose into a relaxed pelvis, belly, chest, and head. Continue inhaling through the mouth into those four parts of the body.
  2. Experience being filled by the most magnificent vision you can have of Existence. For example, embodying the belief of a growing number of scientists, philosophers, and psychonauts in panpsychism -- that the frequency and consciousness of the Creator and Creation permeates all things.
  3. Experiencing our breath as one's beloved.
  4. Experiencing our organism as the Earth and Sun's way of delightedly experiencing itself and the Universe more and more fully.


3. EATING


Our physical, emotional, and mental states
affect how our body utilizes food. 


  1. Before eating, slowing down and creating the optimal environment in which to assimilate and appreciate our food; for instance, toning 4 Om’s
  2. Giving thanks to Sun and Earth, and to all who made this meal possible, in prayer and/or song.
  3. Marveling with awe at our organism that has evolved the capacity to taste, savor, assimilate, and use food for energy and growth.
  4. Eating each bite with the awareness that we are ingesting the miraculous deliciousness and synergy of Earth and Sun.
  5. Putting one's utensil down between bites.
  6. Learning to delay swallowing your food for maximum enjoyment and improved assimilation.
  7. Giving permission to oneself to express appropriate appreciation that fully reflects one’s pleasure (in a socially appropriate way).
  8. Maintain a relaxed breath while eating.


4. GRATITUDE


Many recognize gratitude as the best way to achieve happiness.
If this is so, how fully can we do this?
Being grateful for:


  1. Existence Itself.
  2. Being a singular point in the Universe bringing awareness of the extraordinary nature of existence to Itself. 
  3. All the evolutionary ancestors who provided us with our bodies.
  4. All the clever, kind, and generous “humans” who have given us all the wisdom and inventions available to us.


 5. INNER CHILD AWARENESS


Cultivating connection with the part of us
that is natural, innocent, open, and free.


  1. Compassion for how we didn't (and often still don’t) get our needs met.
  2. Understanding that we're doing our best, and have always done our best, to cope with failures of bonding, connection, and fulfillment.
  3. Having an ongoing inner dialogue to get input about what the child needs and how to implement that.
  4. Being open to awe, wonder, play, and delight as ways to naturally elicit him or her.


6. SENSORY EXPERIENCE


These are our portals to experience Creation.


  1. Our senses can either enhance or detract from our well-being, depending on the input. Choose wisely, with Nature and beauty in mind.
  2. To revel in Creation revealing Itself.
  3. We can increase our capacity for enhanced experience by slowing down and being meditative.
  4. Developing the ability to experience a combination of senses simultaneously.

     

7. SELF-LOVE


This is the most direct, safe, and tangible way
to build the love muscle.


  1. Defining self in the most accurate, expansive, and inspiring way. (See #1 sun-earth activation).
  2. Intuiting what brings personal well-being and prioritizing that.
  3. Loving and appreciating our ancestors by loving our body.
  4. Using mirror time for connection and affirmation.
  5. Increasing one's amount and quality of self-touch.



8. EXISTENTIAL REALITY


Living in the truth of the larger context of the evolutionary universe.
Can we achieve escape velocity from the man-made matrix?

 

  1. Becoming more aware of how our focus on only our separate individual existence cuts us off from the reality, and magnificence of the Universe and our place in it.
  2. Using affirmations to help us tap into this.
  3. Using this as the context for our interactions with ourselves and others.
  4. Cultivating authentic self-expression to align with the authentic nature of Creation.



9. PLAY


Engaging in activities for the sheer delight of it.


  1. Tapping into the child within.
  2. Seeing play as an inherent attribute of Universal Creation.
  3. Cultivating beingness in action.
  4. Finding ways and means to engage in play -- artistic self-expression, creatively sensing the natural world, sports  without winners and losers.
  5. The best medium for the remarkable learning ability of children, which is within us at any age, is play. How can we frame our experience in this way?
  6. How can we increase positive interactions with others through play?



  10. WALKING


  1. Direct way to interface with Earth, especially with bare feet.
  2. Thank you prayer while walking and hugging the Earth with your toes.
  3. Full body engagement in the simplest, most natural, and symmetrical way
  4. Encourages other songs and prayers.
  5. Embodying our consciousness, and our appreciation of nature and the world.



11. DANCE


Especially in group free-form settings.


  1. Authenticity training.
  2. Potentiazes our embodiment by involving our whole body and our free self-expression.
  3. Practice harmonizing with others by being an individual in the collective.
  4. Great opportunity to practice compersion - Feeling joy for other people's joy.



12. SINGING / TONING 


Playfully and sacredly expressing joy, gratitude, awe and wonder of Creation.

 

  1. Home/Om - invoking our connection to the Earth and the universe.
  2. Intuitively sounding frees up our authenticity at a physical level.
  3. Provides a type of internal massage.
  4. Songs available upon request.



13. CONTEMPLATING THE 7 BULLSEYES 


These are 7 distinct miraculous realities we have been gifted with that naturally generate tremendous awe and gratitude, and align us with the nature of the reality that we exist within.


  1. The unbroken chain of life that gave us our bodies to inhabit
  2. The clever, kind, and generous humans who gave us this world of wisdom and technological progress
  3. The Sun that self-organized enough hydrogen atoms in deep space to burn for over 4 billion years so far, providing heat and light that makes life possible 
  4. The Earth and all that it has miraculously created
  5. The manifested Universe
  6. Eternity/Creator from which the Universe emerged
  7. The 5 hyper-fast ways we are moving through space simultaneously while experiencing stillness.



14. ELIMINATION


How we let go of what we no longer need.


  1. Marveling at the genius of our bodies that do this in different ways.
  2. Psychologically and mentally using this as a model.
  3. Natural breaks in our day to pause and give thanks.
  4. After elimination, our bodies are most pure, so using intention and affirmations to reset us in a positive direction.

  2. Hands of light, love, life… Body of light, love, life…
    Child of light, love, life… Tree of light, love, life.
  3. Thank you thank you, bring us more, so all may share this love and joy.
  4. Everything is process.

  7. How to enjoy this moment? How good can I feel? How much fun can it be? … for the benefit of all beings.
  8. Opening up in sweet surrender to the luminous Love light of the All.
